Idaho Art Lab hosts Andy MacDougall as Artist in Residence

Updated: Jun 19

Andy MacDougall is traveling from Vancouver Island, British Columbia to do an artist residency at the Idaho Art Lab.  The Lab hosts artists from around the world in their artist residency living quarters to offer local artists a chance to network and learn without leaving home.

Andy writes columns and runs a podcast, "Art, Ad or Alchemy" from his home in Canada for Screen Printing Magazine.  You can listen here, Art, Ad, or Alchemy Archives - Screen Printing Magazine

Andy is one of Speedballs Pro Artists. You can read more about him on their Pro Artists website at Andy MacDougall - Speedball Art  Andy worked his magic and got Speedball to sponsor the Intro to Screen Printing class he's offering at the Idaho Art Lab June 14 - 15.  Participants will get to play with some of the latest colors, including some pearlescent inks that create very unique effects.

Andy is just as happy to teach you how to make a t-shirt design as a gig poster for a rock band.  Or print on clay or wood or leather.  You can print on almost anything!

He wrote the book Screen Printing Today which is the go-to manual at the Idaho Art Lab and he created an online video tutorial, Screen The World, www.squeegeeville.com, both are available for those who rent the Screen Printing Lab.

Back home, he can be found at Wachiay Studio, teaching and creating in the makerspace.  And he travels the world doing live printing demonstrations at festivals called Flatstock.  The Lab hopes to have him back each year!
