Odyssey Chamber Orchestra: Season 2

We hope everyone had a great summer and ready to play again! OCO Series 2 is officially about to begin. Please see below for all the details on our next Series.

Who we are:

Odyssey Chamber Orchestra is an adult string orchestra designed to encourage non-professionals who may have played in high school and/or college and would like to resume and enhance their playing in a welcoming learning environment of camaraderie. Rehearsals will include instruction in technique building, ensemble skills, and musicality. Our mission is rooted in the concept of continued skill development and personal enrichment centered in the art of music making demonstrated through public performances.

Tuition

$300 per series and is non-refundable, due on Wednesday, September 11. Returning Series 1 members get $50 off their tuition!

Referrals

There is a $10 referral credit for each person that you refer and sign up. Please make sure you let us know if you do refer someone.

Principal Positions

We are now accepting auditions for those interested in principal positions. Principals will get significant tuition benefits for their leadership role. Responsibilities of this role may require extra time out of the week for things like (may not be limited to): sessions with Ted to establish section bowings, distributing those bowings to your section, and being willing to help your section members if needed.

Regular attendance (11 out of 12 rehearsals) at Wednesday night rehearsals is a requirement, please take a moment to review our dates below for Series 2 before you submit your recording.

Auditions are blind, email a recording (no video) of 2 contrasting excerpts

1. Slow, beautiful piece

2. A technically difficult piece

If you have submitted an audition for Series 1, please select different pieces.

Audition deadline is Monday September 9 at 12:00pm

Classes/rehearsals are going to be held every Wednesday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Location will be at Farnsworth Middle School. We may extend rehearsal times when it gets closer to the concert.
